The landscape of the prophetic ministry in the church in America is shifting. I have been prophesying for the last 10 years that God would begin sending His prophets into the wilderness to detox from a contaminated system and to cry against that same system.
These wilderness prophets will be much like John the Baptist. They will be counter-cultural. Un-impressed and uninfluenced by the dominant culture’s fashion, focus, and sound. These prophets will be rough around the edges, and will lack the refinement of prophets trained for the king’s courts. But make no mistake about it, these are indeed God’s prophets.
They are not bastards though many will have been emancipated from their fathers and mothers, because they, like Eli, were compromised. They will honor land marks but not our idols. He will raise them up to come through the church’s perverted culture like a wrecking ball. RECEIVE THEM. They will not feel good, but they are for our good. They will be disrupters that will incite holy insurrections. They will cry against our high places and our altars.
They will openly confront our Eli’s and they will call for the expulsion of our Hophni and Phinehas’. It is not that they lack respect or honor. It is that their respect and honor prioritizes God’s will and heart about the reputation and ego of man. It is not persons that they are taking a stand against. It’s the system, the spirit, and the culture.
These wilderness prophets too will be overcome by pride and ego. The pendulum will swing from the pulpit, to the wilderness, and will land in the center amongst the people. Entire prophetic movements will break out where “common” pew warmers will wield great prophetic grace and foresight. Para-church movements will begin to develop the spiritual consciousness of all believers and supernatural evangelism will break out causing public salvation of those who before practiced the occult and false religions.
Civil war is coming. Not just in America but in the church in America. Prophet will rise against prophet. True prophet will stand against and confront false prophet. This is not a house divided, but this is Kingdom of God subduing the false kingdoms of darkness and of man.
Like Jeremiah, God’s prophets will rescue his people from the false hopes created by false prophets like Hananiah. The rescue will be by violence and by sword. With apostolic aggression and prophetic precision these false prophets will be (figuratively) castrated so that they are unable to continue reproducing others like them.
Though some will attempt to call for peace, and reconciliation it will not be so. God will harden the hearts of His prophets against the false prophets. Their aim will not be reconciliation nor will it be peace. It will be to take by force. His prophets will seem like sources of mess and destruction, when in fact they will be His resource for re-establishing order and structure.
